My PhD study investigates the ecological and social determinants of individual variation in reproductive seasonality and their fitness consequences (both for the offspring and the mother) for 2 wild primate populations: chacma baboons in Namibia (Tsaobis Baboon Project) and mandrills in Gabon (Projet Mandrillus). An analysis of life-history traits using long-term data will be coupled with physiological (stress hormones extracted from faeces and hair), morphological and behavioural measures in the two populations.
