Commercial fish farms integrated to smallholders farms contribute to the sustainable development and the fight against poverty in many Southern countries. My research activities aim to understand the rationale of recent innovations and those being developed by the farmers, in order to lift the main constraints the fish farmers face at the farm level, or the village and territory levels: lack of performance of socio-technical systems; and limited access to sensitive and accurate information. These case studies are realized through Action Research Approach. I act also as correspondent, that is to say, CIRAD’s institutional representative within ISEM Research Unit.
