Understanding and documenting threatened plant diversity is my passion and research interest. My PhD research currently investigates how differences in ecological niches and geographical range dynamics of South African Proteaceae arise from the response of fundamental demographic processes and are important for biodiversity research. This research can help to answer pressing questions of biodiversity conservation in the Cape Floristic Region (South Africa) and beyond. This requires the integration of different existing datasets and the targeted collection of supplementary data. My work illustrates this approach with ongoing collaborative research projects that study the large-scale dynamics of Proteaceae diversity.
